Gen Z: Numbers 20
The crew of Israel rolled up to the desert of Zin in the first month, chilling in Kadesh; Miriam passed away there, and they buried her, no cap.
But there was no water for the squad, so they all came for Moses and Aaron, sus vibes.
The people went off on Moses, like, “For real, we wish we had just kicked the bucket with our homies before the Lord!”
They were like, “Why’d you drag us out here into the wilderness, just to let us and our cattle die? That’s savage.”
And they were all, “Why’d you even pull us out of Egypt to this whack place? There’s no seeds, figs, vines, or even pomegranates; and we’re thirsty, fr!”
So Moses and Aaron dipped from the crowd to the tabernacle door and hit the floor, and the glory of the Lord showed up, lit.
Then the Lord was like, “Yo, Moses, listen up.”
“Grab the rod, gather the squad, you and Aaron, and talk to the rock in front of them; it’ll drop water, and you’ll give the crew and their animals a drink.”
Moses took the rod just like the Lord told him to, no doubt.
Moses and Aaron gathered the crew before the rock, and he said, “Yo, rebels, you really think we gotta fetch you water from this rock?”
Moses raised his hand, smacked the rock twice with his stick, and water just gushed out, like, everyone was vibing and even the animals got a drink.
God was like, "Yo Moses and Aaron, since you didn't trust me to show my rizz to the Israelites, you ain't taking them into the promised land."
This is the Meribah water; the Israelites had some drama with God, and He was all about that sanctification life.
Moses hit up the king of Edom, saying, "Yo, it’s your bro Israel, you know all the struggles we’ve been through."
Our fam rolled into Egypt, stayed there for ages, and the Egyptians were totally savage to us and our ancestors.
When we called out to the Lord, He heard us, sent an angel, and rescued us from Egypt; now we’re chilling in Kadesh, right on your border.
Let us pass through your land, no cap: we won't mess with your fields or vineyards, and we won't drink your well water; we’ll stick to the king’s highway, no detours till we’re out.
Edom was like, "Nah, you ain’t passing through, or I’m coming at you with the sword."
The Israelites replied, "We’ll stick to the highway; if my crew and I drink your water, I’ll pay you back, just letting us walk through."
Edom was like, "No way you’re getting through," and came out with a squad, flexing hard.
Edom was like, "Nah fam, you can’t pass through my turf," so Israel had to bounce.
The whole squad of Israel dipped from Kadesh and hit up mount Hor.
God pulled up on Moses and Aaron at mount Hor, right by Edom, and said,
"Aaron's gotta chill with his peeps now; he ain't entering the land I promised Israel 'cause he lowkey dissed my word at Meribah."
"Grab Aaron and his son Eleazar, and take them up to mount Hor."
"Take off Aaron's drip and put it on Eleazar; Aaron's gonna join his crew and peace out here."
Moses did what God said, and they rolled up to mount Hor in front of the whole squad.
Moses took off Aaron's drip and put it on Eleazar; Aaron passed away at the top of the mount, and then Moses and Eleazar came back down.
When the whole squad saw Aaron was gone, they mourned for him for thirty days, no cap, all the house of Israel.
