Gen Z: Judges 20
So all the peeps of Israel rolled out, and the squad was gathered up tight, from Dan to Beer-sheba, with Gilead, all for the Lord in Mizpeh.
The top dogs of all the tribes of Israel showed up in the assembly, four hundred thousand foot soldiers ready to pop off.
(The Benjamin crew heard that the Israel squad hit up Mizpeh.) Then the Israelites were like, “Yo, what’s with this savage move?”
The Levite, whose wifey got wrecked, said, “I pulled up to Gibeah in Benjamin with my girl to chill.”
But the Gibeah dudes came at me hard, surrounded the crib at night, and tried to take me out; they forced my girl, and now she’s gone.
So I took my girl, chopped her up, and sent her around the whole land of Israel: they’ve been acting sus and wild in Israel.
Yo, you’re all Israel fam; drop your thoughts and advice here.
And the whole crew stood up as one, saying, “We ain’t going back to our tents or our cribs.”
But now this is the plan for Gibeah; we’re gonna roll up on it by lot.
We’ll grab ten men from every hundred across Israel, and a hundred from every thousand, and a thousand from every ten thousand, to get food for the squad when they hit up Gibeah of Benjamin, for all the wild stuff they’ve done in Israel.
So all the homies of Israel pulled up on the city, vibin' together like one squad.
And the tribes of Israel sent peeps through all the tribe of Benjamin, like, "What kinda sus vibes are you on?"
Now for real, deliver us the men, the kids of Belial, chillin' in Gibeah, so we can deal with them and get rid of the evil in Israel. But the kids of Benjamin were like, "Nah, we ain't listenin' to y'all."
But the kids of Benjamin gathered up from the cities to Gibeah, ready to pop off against the kids of Israel.
And the kids of Benjamin were counted at that time, twenty-six thousand sword-wielders, not counting the peeps from Gibeah, who had seven hundred goated men.
Among all these folks, there were seven hundred left-handed legends; every one could sling stones with mad precision, no cap.
And the men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were counted at four hundred thousand sword-drawers: all these were straight-up warriors.
And the kids of Israel got up, went to the house of God, and asked for the 411, saying, "Who’s gonna go first into battle against Benjamin?" And the Lord was like, "Judah's got this, they go first."
And the kids of Israel rose up in the morning and set up camp against Gibeah.
And the men of Israel rolled out to battle against Benjamin; they got themselves ready to fight at Gibeah.
The fam from Benjamin rolled outta Gibeah and took down 22,000 of the Israelites that day. Savage vibes.
The Israelites hyped each other up and got ready to battle again where they first squared off. Periodt.
The Israelites went and cried out to the Lord until evening, asking, "Should we hit the battlefield again against our bro Benjamin?" And God was like, "Go for it."
So, the Israelites came up on Benjamin again the next day.
Benjamin came out of Gibeah again and wrecked another 18,000 of the Israelites; all these dudes were armed and ready. No cap.
Then all the Israelites went up to the house of God, weeping and chilling there before the Lord, fasting till evening and offering burnt and peace offerings.
The Israelites asked the Lord for guidance (the ark of the covenant was there back then).
Phinehas, Eleazar's son, was standing there too, saying, "Should we go out to battle again against our bro Benjamin, or chill?" And the Lord said, "Go up; tomorrow I got you."
So, Israel set traps around Gibeah, for real.
The Israelites rolled up against Benjamin on the third day, getting ready for Gibeah like before.
The fam from Benjamin rolled out to fight, pulling away from the city, and they started taking out people like it was just another day on the block, about thirty dudes from Israel caught in the crossfire.
The Benjamin crew was like, "We got this, easy win," but the Israelites were like, "Nah, let’s bounce and lure them out to the roads."
All the Israel guys stood up, ready to pop off at Baal-tamar, while the sneak squad from Israel came out from hiding in the fields of Gibeah.
Then ten thousand top-tier warriors from all Israel rolled up on Gibeah, and the battle was intense, but they had no clue trouble was right around the corner.
The Lord straight-up wrecked Benjamin in front of Israel, and that day, the Israelites took out twenty-five thousand and a hundred Benjamites—no cap, they were all swinging swords.
The Benjamin squad realized they were getting wrecked: the Israel crew gave them space because they trusted the sneak squad they set up by Gibeah.
The sneak squad moved quick and rushed Gibeah, taking over the whole city with their swords like it was a savage takeover.
There was a major sign set up between the Israelites and the sneak squad, where they were supposed to light a big flame with smoke rising from the city.
When the Israel guys pulled back in the battle, the Benjamites started taking out about thirty of them, thinking, "For sure, they’re down like last time."
But when the flame shot up from the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites turned around and saw the city’s fire reaching up to the sky.
When the Israel squad turned back, the Benjamites were shook: they realized some serious bad vibes were hitting them.
So they dipped and ran into the wilderness, but the battle caught up to them; they took out those who came out from the cities, no cap.
They surrounded the Benjamites, chased them down, and crushed them easy near Gibeah when the sun was coming up.
Eighteen thousand Benjamites fell that day; all of them were straight-up warriors.
They turned and ran to the wilderness by the rock of Rimmon; they snagged five thousand men on the highways and chased hard after them to Gidom, taking out two thousand more.
So all who went down that day from Benjamin were twenty-five thousand men who could throw down; all these were warriors.
But six hundred men bounced and fled to the wilderness at the rock Rimmon, chilling there for four months.
Then the Israel crew came back at the Benjamite kids and took them out with the sword, hitting every city and even the animals, setting all the cities ablaze as they went.
