Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 14
So Abijah took a nap with his ancestors, and they laid him to rest in the city of David. Asa, his son, took the throne. Vibes were chill for ten years.
Asa was out here doing what’s good and right in the eyes of the Lord, no cap.
He ditched the altars of the weird gods, smashed the high places, and took down the idols. Savage moves.
He told Judah to seek the Lord God of their fams and follow His laws.
Asa also cleared out all the high places and idols from the cities of Judah. The kingdom was all chill under his reign.
He built up fortified cities in Judah since the land was at peace, and there was no drama; the Lord had given him that vibe.
Asa was like, "Yo Judah, let’s build these cities and set up walls, towers, gates, and bars while the land is still ours; we’ve been seeking the Lord, and He’s blessed us with peace." So they built and thrived.
Asa had a lit army: 300k men from Judah with targets and spears, and 280k from Benjamin with shields and bows. All these dudes were goated warriors.
Then Zerah the Ethiopian rolled up with a huge army of a million and 300 chariots, heading to Mareshah.
Asa went out to face him, and they set up for battle in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
Asa called out to the Lord his God, saying, "Lord, it’s nothing for you to help, whether we’re many or weak: help us, O Lord our God; we’re counting on you, and in your name, we go against this squad. You’re our God; don’t let any man beat you."
So the Lord wrecked the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah; the Ethiopians dipped.
Asa and his crew chased them to Gerar, and the Ethiopians got wrecked, couldn’t bounce back; they were destroyed before the Lord and His army, and they took a ton of loot.
They wrecked all the cities around Gerar because the fear of the Lord hit them; they looted all the cities since there was mad spoil.
They also took the livestock tents, snagged sheep and camels in abundance, and bounced back to Jerusalem.
