Gen Z: Psalms 79
Yo God, the haters rolled up on your spot; they totally wrecked your holy temple and stacked Jerusalem like a Jenga tower.
They threw your crew’s dead bodies to the birds, and your saints’ flesh to the beasts, no cap.
Their blood was spilled like water all around Jerusalem, and no one was there to give them a proper send-off.
We’re straight-up a joke to our neighbors, like, they’re clowning us hard right now.
How long, Lord? You gonna stay mad forever? Is your jealousy gonna burn like a savage fire?
Spill your wrath on the haters who don’t even know you, and on those kingdoms that don’t call your name.
They straight-up devoured Jacob and wrecked his crib.
Please don’t hold our past mess-ups against us; show us some of that tender mercy, we’re down bad.
Help us, O God of our salvation, for your name’s glory: save us and clean up our sins, all for your name’s sake.
Why should the haters say, “Where’s their God?” Let them see you flex on the nations by avenging the blood of your servants.
Let the cries of the prisoners hit you up; with your power, keep those who are set to die safe, fr.
And give our neighbors back seven times the shade they threw at you, O Lord.
So we, your people and the sheep of your pasture, will shout out your thanks forever: we’ll rep your praise to all generations.
