Numbers 4

Gen Z: Numbers 4

1God hit up Moses and Aaron, saying,

2Count all the fam of Kohath from Levi's crew, by their fams, like, for real.

3From thirty to fifty, everyone who’s down to work in the tabernacle, no cap.

4This is how the Kohath fam rolls in the tabernacle, handling the super holy stuff:

5When the camp rolls out, Aaron and his boys gotta take down the cover and wrap the ark, periodt.

6They’ll throw on some badger skins and cover it with a blue cloth, then pop in the poles.

7On the showbread table, they spread a blue cloth, placing dishes, spoons, bowls, and covers on it: the constant bread vibes are there.

8They’ll throw a scarlet cloth on it, cover it with badger skins, and stick in the poles.

9They’ll grab a blue cloth, cover the candlestick and its lamps, tongs, and snuffdishes, all the oil stuff too, fr.

10They’ll pack it and all its gear in badger skins and put it on a bar.

11On the golden altar, they gotta throw down a blue cloth, cover it with badger skins, and put the staves on it, fr.

12They’ll grab all the ministry tools for the sanctuary, wrap 'em in a blue cloth, cover 'em with badger skins, and put 'em on a bar, no cap.

13They gonna take the ashes off the altar and lay down a purple cloth on it, periodt.

14They’ll load it up with all the vessels they use, like censers, fleshhooks, shovels, and basons, cover it with badger skins, and put the staves on it, bet.

15When Aaron and his sons finish covering the sanctuary and vessels, and the camp's ready to roll, Kohath's sons will carry it, but they better not touch anything holy, or it’s a wrap for them. This is the vibe for the Kohath kids in the tabernacle.

16Eleazar, Aaron's son, is in charge of the oil for the light, the sweet incense, daily meat offering, anointing oil, and overseeing the whole tabernacle and its stuff, lit.

17The Lord hit up Moses and Aaron, saying,

18Don’t cut off the Kohathite tribe from the Levites, that’s sus.

19But do this so they can live and not die when they get close to the holy stuff: Aaron and his sons will go in and assign each one their service and burden, fr.

20But they can’t peek when the holy things are getting covered, or it’s game over for them, no cap.

21And the Lord hit up Moses, saying,

22Count the sons of Gershon, by their fams, no cap;

23From thirty to fifty, that's the squad you count; all who roll in to serve in the tabernacle vibes.

24This is the gig for the Gershon fams, to serve and carry the load:

25They gotta handle the tabernacle curtains and the whole setup, plus the badger skin covers and the door hangin’ for the tabernacle, fr.

26And the court hangings, plus the gate door vibes, around the tabernacle and altar, with their cords and all the gear for the service, they gonna pop off.

27Aaron and his sons are in charge of all the Gershonite service, every burden they gotta carry, for real; you’ll assign them their tasks.

28This is the Gershon fam’s service in the tabernacle, and Ithamar, Aaron’s son, is the one calling the shots.

29Now for the Merari crew, count them by their fams, from their dads' houses;

30From thirty to fifty, count everyone ready to serve in the tabernacle work, lit.

31This is the whole vibe of their hustle, like all the stuff in the tabernacle; boards, bars, pillars, and sockets, you feel me?

32And the pillars around the court, plus their sockets, pins, and cords, all the gear, you gotta count that for their service, no cap.

33This is how the fams of the Merari crew roll, doing their thing in the tabernacle under Ithamar, Aaron’s son, straight up.

34Moses, Aaron, and the heads of the crew counted the sons of the Kohathites by fams and their pops’ houses, for real.

35They checked everyone from thirty to fifty years old who was down to serve in the tabernacle, like, that’s lit.

36The count was two thousand seven hundred and fifty, fr.

37These were the Kohath fams that were counted to serve in the tabernacle; Moses and Aaron did that as the Lord commanded, no cap.

38And they also counted the sons of Gershon by fams and their pops' houses, you know?

39From thirty to fifty years old, everyone ready to serve in the tabernacle, that’s the deal.

40Those counted from their fams were two thousand six hundred and thirty, periodt.

41These fams were counted from the sons of Gershon, all ready to serve in the tabernacle, like Moses and Aaron said, no cap.

42And those counted from the sons of Merari, across their fams, you know how it is.

43From thirty to fifty, anyone stepping into the service for the tabernacle, that’s the vibe.

44They counted up to three thousand and two hundred, straight up.

45These are the fams of Merari, counted by Moses and Aaron, just like the Lord said, fr.

46All the Levites counted by Moses, Aaron, and the heads of Israel, by their fams, you feel?

47From thirty to fifty, anyone coming to do the ministry and handle the burdens in the tabernacle, that’s how we roll.

48They counted eight thousand five hundred and eighty, lit.

49Following the Lord's command, Moses counted each one by their service and burden, just as the Lord told him, periodt.

KJV: Numbers 4

1And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

2Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,

3From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

4This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:

5And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:

6And shall put thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof.

7And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover withal: and the continual bread shall be thereon:

8And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put in the staves thereof.

9And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and his lamps, and his tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it:

10And they shall put it and all the vessels thereof within a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put it upon a bar.

11And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put to the staves thereof:

12And they shall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put them on a bar:

13And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon:

14And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they minister about it, even the censers, the fleshhooks, and the shovels, and the basons, all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers’ skins, and put to the staves of it.

15And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

16And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.

17And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

18Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites:

19But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:

20But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.

21And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

22Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families;

23From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

24This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and for burdens:

25And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers’ skins that is above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,

26And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve.

27At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.

28This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

29As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers;

30From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the service, to do the work of the tabernacle of the congregation.

31And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof,

32And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service: and by name ye shall reckon the instruments of the charge of their burden.

33This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

34And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their fathers,

35From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation:

36And those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty.

37These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

38And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers,

39From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,

40Even those that were numbered of them, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty.

41These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the Lord.

42And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers,

43From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,

44Even those that were numbered of them after their families, were three thousand and two hundred.

45These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

46All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the chief of Israel numbered, after their families, and after the house of their fathers,

47From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden in the tabernacle of the congregation,

48Even those that were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and fourscore.

49According to the commandment of the Lord they were numbered by the hand of Moses, every one according to his service, and according to his burden: thus were they numbered of him, as the Lord commanded Moses.
