Gen Z: Malachi 2
Yo, priests, this one's for you, no cap.
If you ain't listening and ain't giving my name the hype it deserves, the Lord's gonna hit you with a curse, and your blessings? They’re already cursed, fr.
Check it, I’m about to mess with your lineage and throw some serious shade on your faces, even the leftovers from your parties; someone’s gonna take you out with it.
You’ll know I sent this commandment so my vibe with Levi stays strong, says the Lord of hosts.
My pact was all about life and peace; I gave those to him 'cause he had mad respect for me and wasn't afraid to show it.
Truth was always on his lips, and he wasn’t about that shady life; he walked with me in peace and fairness, pulling people away from their sus ways.
Priests should keep the knowledge fresh, and they gotta seek the law from his mouth; he’s the messenger for the Lord of hosts.
But y’all have strayed off course; you made people stumble over the law and messed up Levi's covenant, says the Lord of hosts.
So I’ve made you look weak and low-key in front of everyone because you didn’t keep it 100 with my ways and played favorites with the law.
Don’t we all have one Father? Didn’t one God create us? Why are we out here betraying each other and dissing the covenant of our ancestors?
Judah’s been shady, and it’s a whole mess in Israel and Jerusalem; Judah dissed the holiness of the Lord he loved and married some strange god’s daughter.
The Lord’s gonna cut off anyone who does this, whether you’re a boss or a scholar, out of Jacob's crew, including anyone offering to the Lord of hosts.
And y’all keep pulling this move, covering the Lord’s altar with tears and feels, so much that He’s not even checking for your offerings anymore, no cap.
But you ask, “Why?” 'Cause the Lord's been watching you and your youth’s wife, whom you’ve been shady with; she’s your ride or die and the wife of your covenant.
Didn’t He make just one? He had the spirit left over, and why just one? To seek a godly crew. So keep it real, and don’t be shady with your youth’s wife.
The Lord, the God of Israel, says He hates breaking up; one covers violence with their drip, says the Lord of hosts; so keep it in check and don’t be shady.
You’ve tired the Lord out with your words. But you ask, “How?” When you say everyone doing evil is good in the Lord’s eyes, and He’s vibing with them; or, “Where’s the God of judgment?”
