Gen Z: Luke 24
So like, on the first day of the week, super early vibes, they rolled up to the tomb with spices they prepped, and some homies with them.
And they found the stone just chilling, rolled away from the tomb.
They went in and, no cap, couldn’t find Jesus’ body.
And as they were all confused, boom, two guys in shiny fits showed up next to them.
They were shook and bowed down, and the guys were like, “Why you looking for the living with the dead?”
He ain't here, fam, he’s risen: remember how he told you back in Galilee?
He said the Son of Man gotta be handed over to some sketchy people, get crucified, and then pop off on the third day.
And they totally remembered what he said, fr.
They bounced from the tomb and spilled the tea to the eleven and everyone else.
It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary, the mother of James, plus some other ladies, who told the apostles all this.
Their words were just vibes, and they were like, "Nah, no cap."
Then Peter popped off, ran to the tomb, and peeped the linen clothes chillin’ there, wondering what just went down.
Two of them dipped that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was a bit of a trek from Jerusalem.
They were chatting about all the wild stuff that had happened.
While they were vibing and talking, Jesus pulled up and walked with them.
But they were lowkey blind to who he was.
He asked them, "What’s the tea you guys are spilling as you walk and look all sad?"
One of them, named Cleopas, was like, "You must be a total stranger in Jerusalem, not knowing what’s been going down lately?"
He replied, "What things?" They said, "About Jesus of Nazareth, who was a total legend in action and words before God and the whole squad."
And how the big dogs and our leaders handed him over to be canceled, and they crucified him.
We thought he was the one to save Israel, but fr, it’s been three days since all this went down.
For real, some of the ladies in our crew were shook, showing up early at the tomb;
And when they didn’t find his body, they were like, “Yo, we saw angels saying he’s alive!”
Some of the guys with us went to the tomb and found it just like the ladies said, but they didn’t see him.
Then he was like, “Y’all are such fools, so slow to believe what the prophets said: no cap.”
Shouldn’t Christ have gone through all this to step into his glory?
Starting with Moses and the prophets, he broke it down for them in the scriptures about himself.
As they got close to the village they were heading to, he acted like he was gonna keep going.
But they were like, “Stay with us, it’s getting late, and the day’s almost over.” So he went in to chill with them.
When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to them.
Their eyes got opened, and they recognized him; then he just ghosted outta there.
They were like, "Did our hearts not vibe hard when he was chatting with us and breaking down the scriptures?"
They bounced back to Jerusalem that same hour, finding the eleven squad all gathered up with their crew.
They were hyped, saying, "The Lord is totally risen, fr, and he showed up to Simon!"
They spilled the tea on everything that went down, and how they recognized him when he broke bread.
While they were talking, Jesus popped up right in the middle of them and said, "Peace out, y'all."
But they were shook and scared, thinking they saw a ghost or something sus.
He asked them, "Why y'all trippin'? What’s got you all in your feels?"
"Check out my hands and feet, it’s really me: touch me and see; a ghost ain't got flesh and bones like I do."
After he said that, he showed them his hands and feet.
They were all shook and vibing, so he asked, "Y'all got any food?"
They handed him some grilled fish and honeycomb, no cap.
He took it and ate in front of them, just chillin'.
He said, "These are the facts I dropped while I was with you, everything gotta happen that was written in Moses' law, the prophets, and the psalms about me."
Then he opened their minds so they could get the scriptures, fr.
He told them, "It’s all written like this, Christ had to suffer and bounce back from the dead on the third day."
"And y'all gotta spread the good news about repentance and forgiveness in my name to all nations, starting with Jerusalem."
"You guys are the witnesses of all this, periodt."
"Check it, I'm sending my Dad's promise your way: chill in Jerusalem till you get that power from above."
He took them out to Bethany, lifted his hands, and blessed them, vibes on point.
So, while he was vibing with them, he dipped and got taken up to heaven.
They were all about worshipping him and bounced back to Jerusalem, feeling mad joy:
They stayed lit in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
