Gen Z: John 10
For real, for real, if you don’t roll in through the door to the sheep pen, but try to sneak in another way, you’re just a thief, no cap.
But if you come in through the door, you’re the goated shepherd of the sheep.
The gatekeeper opens up for him; the sheep hear his rizz, and he calls them by name and leads them out.
When he brings out his own sheep, he goes ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice, fr.
They won’t follow a stranger; they’ll bounce because they don’t vibe with the voice of strangers.
Jesus dropped this parable on them, but they were totally lost on what he meant, fr.
Then Jesus was like, “For real, I’m the door for the sheep.”
Everyone who came before me was just a thief and a robber, but the sheep weren’t having it.
I’m the door; if anyone rolls in through me, they’ll be saved and can vibe in and out, finding good pastures.
The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy; I came so they could live their best life, like, for real.
I'm the good shepherd, fr. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, no cap.
But the hireling, who ain't really the shepherd, sees the wolf coming and dips, leaving the sheep to get wrecked.
The hireling bounces 'cause he’s just a hireling and doesn’t care about the sheep, sus.
I'm the good shepherd, I know my sheep, and they know me, periodt.
Just like the Father knows me, I know the Father, and I'm here to lay down my life for the sheep, bet.
I got other sheep that aren't in this crew, and I gotta bring them too; they'll hear my voice, and we'll all be one squad with one shepherd.
That's why my Father loves me, 'cause I lay down my life to pick it back up, lit.
No one takes it from me; I drop it myself. I got the power to lay it down and to take it back, no cap. My Father gave me this command.
So there was drama among the Jews over what I just said, fr.
A bunch of them were like, "He's got a devil and is wild; why are you even listening to him?"
Some peeps were like, "This guy ain't sus, right? Can a devil even open blind eyes?"
So, it was in Jerusalem for the dedication feast, and yeah, it was winter vibes.
Jesus was just chillin' in the temple on Solomon's porch, vibin'.
Then the Jews rolled up to him, asking, "How long you gonna keep us guessing? If you’re the Christ, just spill it."
Jesus was like, "I already told you, but y'all didn’t believe. The things I do in my Father’s name? They’re proof, no cap."
"But you don’t believe, 'cause you ain't part of my squad, like I said."
"My squad hears my voice, and I know them, and they be following me, fr."
"I give them eternal life; they ain't gonna fade away, and nobody can snatch them from my grip."
"My Father, who gave them to me, is way greater than all; no one can take them outta my Father’s hands, periodt."
"Me and my Father, we’re one, no doubt."
The Jews were like, "Time to throw hands again," and picked up stones to throw at him.
Jesus was like, "I’ve shown you mad good vibes from my Dad; which of those vibes got me in trouble?"
The Jews shot back, "We ain't stoning you for good stuff, but for being sus and claiming you’re God, fam."
Jesus hit them with, "Ain't it written in your own law, ‘Ye are gods’?"
If God called them gods, and His word is solid, you can't just ignore that, fr.
So you’re saying the one the Father blessed and sent is blasphemous just 'cause I said I’m the Son of God? That’s wild.
If I ain't doing my Dad's work, then don’t believe me, no cap.
But if I am, even if you don’t vibe with me, peep the works: know that the Father’s in me, and I’m in Him.
So they tried to grab him again, but he pulled a slick move and slipped away.
He bounced back to the other side of Jordan, to where John first baptized, and just chilled there.
Mad peeps came to him, saying, "John didn’t do any wild stuff, but everything he said about this dude was facts."
A bunch of them straight up believed in him there.
