Gen Z: Jeremiah 47
Yo, this is the word from the Lord to Jeremiah about the Philistines, right before Pharaoh straight up wrecked Gaza.
The Lord’s like, "Check it, waters are gonna rise from the north, and it’s gonna flood hard, taking over the land and everything in it; the city and all the peeps there gonna be crying, fr."
When the strong horses stomp and the chariots rush by, the dads won’t even look back at their kids 'cause their hands are weak, no cap.
It’s the day that’s gonna wreck all the Philistines, cutting off every helper from Tyrus and Zidon; the Lord’s about to spoil the Philistines, the last of Caphtor's crew.
Gaza’s gone bald; Ashkelon’s out here cut off with what’s left of their valley: for real, how long you gonna keep hurting yourself?
Yo, sword of the Lord, how long you gonna be chillin’? Put yourself back in your scabbard, take a breather, and just be still.
How can it chill when the Lord’s given it a mission against Ashkelon and the shore? That’s where it’s meant to be, periodt.
