Gen Z: Jeremiah 43
So, Jeremiah drops all the words from God to the squad, like, “This is what the Lord says, fr.”
Then Azariah and Johanan, plus the proud crew, were like, “Nah, Jeremiah, you’re capping. God didn’t send you to tell us not to bounce to Egypt.”
But Baruch, Neriah's dude, is totally sus, trying to hand us over to the Chaldeans to get wrecked and taken to Babylon.
So Johanan and the captains, plus the whole vibe, ignored what the Lord said and didn’t chill in Judah.
But Johanan and the captains scooped up all the remnant of Judah who came back from all the places they got sent to, ready to vibe in Judah.
They brought men, women, kids, and the king’s daughters, plus everyone Nebuzar–adan left with Gedaliah and Jeremiah and Baruch.
So they rolled into Egypt, ignoring what the Lord said, and ended up in Tahpanhes.
Then the Lord hit up Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
“Grab some big stones and hide them in the clay at Pharaoh’s crib in Tahpanhes, where the Judah crew can see.”
And tell them, “The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, says, ‘I’m sending Nebuchadrezzar, the king of Babylon, my dude, to set up his throne on these stones I hid; he’s gonna flex over them.’”
When he rolls in, he’s gonna wreck Egypt, sending those for death to death, those for captivity to captivity, and those for the sword to the sword.
I’ll light a fire in the houses of Egypt’s gods; he’s gonna burn them and take off with captives, draping Egypt like a shepherd in fresh threads, rolling out in peace.
He’s gonna smash the images of Beth–shemesh in Egypt and set the houses of their gods on fire.
