Gen Z: Deuteronomy 15
At the end of every seven years, you gotta make a release, no cap.
Here’s the deal: every lender has to let go of what they owe to their homies; no stressing your bro, it’s the Lord’s release, fr.
You can still collect from outsiders, but with your bros, you gotta let it slide.
Unless everyone’s vibing and no one’s poor, 'cause the Lord’s gonna bless you big time in the land He’s giving you, periodt.
Just make sure you’re listening to the Lord and doing what I’m telling you today, bet.
The Lord’s gonna bless you like He promised; you’ll be lending to many nations but won’t need to borrow, and you’ll be on top, no cap.
If you see a poor bro in your area, don’t act sus and shut your heart or hand from him.
Instead, open your hand wide and lend him what he needs, no questions asked.
Watch out for that sus thought in your heart saying, “It’s the year of release, I can’t help him,” 'cause if he cries to the Lord, that’s on you.
You gotta give to him, and don’t feel bad about it; the Lord will bless you in everything you do, fr.
The poor will always be around, so I’m telling you, keep your hand open for your bros and those in need.
If a Hebrew bro or sis sells themselves to you and works for six years, let them go free in the seventh year, that’s the move.
When you send them out, don’t let them bounce empty-handed, that’s just savage.
Hook them up from your flock and your stuff; whatever the Lord blessed you with, share it.
Remember, you were a bondman in Egypt, and the Lord redeemed you; that’s why I’m telling you this today.
If they say, “Nah, I’m staying,” 'cause they love you and your crib, that’s cool.
Then take an aul and pierce their ear to the door, and they’ll be your forever servant, and do the same for your maidservant.
Don’t find it hard to send them away free; they’ve worked hard for you, and the Lord will bless you in all you do.
All the firstborn males from your herd and flock are holy to the Lord; don’t work them or shear them, that’s the law.
You’ll eat it before the Lord every year at the spot He chooses, you and your fam.
If there’s any flaw, like being lame or blind, don’t sacrifice it to the Lord, that’s just not right.
You can eat it within your gates; both clean and unclean can chow down on it, just like the roebuck or the hart.
But don’t eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water, that’s the rule.
