Gen Z: 2 Kings 1
So Moab was like, "Nah," and went against Israel after Ahab kicked the bucket.
Ahaziah totally fell through the ceiling in his fancy room in Samaria and was feeling sus, so he hit up some messengers, saying, "Yo, go ask Baal-zebub if I’ll bounce back from this sickness."
But the Lord's angel pulled up to Elijah and was like, "Yo, get up and meet the king’s messengers. Why you asking Baal-zebub when there’s a God in Israel?"
The Lord said, "You ain't getting off that bed, fam. You gonna die for sure." And Elijah was out.
When the messengers came back, he was like, "Why y’all back so soon?"
They said, "A dude met us and told us to go back to the king and tell him, 'The Lord said, why you asking Baal-zebub when there’s a God in Israel? You ain't getting off that bed, you gonna die.'"
He asked them, "What kind of dude was he that told you all this?"
They said, "He was a hairy dude with a leather belt. It's Elijah the Tishbite, no cap."
Then the king sent a captain with fifty guys to find him. The captain found him chillin' on a hill and said, "Man of God, the king wants you to come down."
Elijah was like, "If I’m really a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and roast you and your fifty." And bam, fire came down and toasted them.
The king sent another captain with fifty, and he was like, "O man of God, the king said to come down fast."
Elijah was like, "If I’m a man of God, fire come down and roast you and your fifty." And fire from God came down and took them out too.
Then the third captain rolled up, fell on his knees, and begged, "O man of God, please let me and my fifty live."
He was like, "Fire came down and burnt the last two captains and their squads, so please don’t let me get roasted."
The Lord's angel said to Elijah, "Go down with him, don’t be scared." So Elijah got up and went to the king.
He said, "The Lord says, since you’ve sent messengers to ask Baal-zebub instead of God in Israel, you ain't getting off that bed, you gonna die."
So he died just like the Lord said through Elijah. And Jehoram took over in his place during the second year of Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, 'cause he had no son.
The rest of Ahaziah’s acts, are they not in the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
