Gen Z: 1 Samuel 19
Saul was like, "Yo, kill David," and told his crew to handle it.
But Jonathan, Saul's son, was vibing with David, so he warned him, "Bet, my dad's out to get you. Stay low key until morning, and hide."
"I’ll talk to my dad in the field where you are, and spill the tea on what’s up."
Jonathan was like, "Dad, chill on David. He ain't done you dirty, and he's always been good to you."
"He put his life on the line and took out the Philistine. God did a major save for Israel, you saw it and celebrated. Why you tryna take out an innocent dude?"
Saul listened to Jonathan and swore, "As the Lord lives, David won’t be touched."
Jonathan called David and filled him in on everything. Then he brought David to Saul, and it was all chill like before.
Then there was another war, and David went out and wrecked the Philistines hard; they bounced from him.
An evil spirit from the Lord hit Saul while he was chilling at home with a javelin, and David was out here playing music.
Saul tried to throw the javelin at David but dude slipped away, and the javelin hit the wall instead. David dipped and escaped that night.
Saul sent peeps to watch David’s crib and take him out in the morning, but Michal, David’s wife, was like, "If you don’t bounce tonight, you’re done tomorrow."
So Michal let David down through a window, and he ghosted.
Michal put a statue in the bed, threw some goat hair on it for a pillow, and covered it up.
When Saul's messengers came to grab David, she said, "He’s sick."
Saul sent them again to check on David, saying, "Bring him to me in the bed so I can take him out."
When the messengers got there, they saw the statue in the bed with the goat hair pillow.
Saul was like, "Why you play me like that, Michal? You let my enemy escape!" Michal replied, "He told me to let him go; why should I hurt you?"
So David dipped and told Samuel everything Saul had done. They both went and chilled in Naioth.
Word got to Saul, "Yo, David's at Naioth in Ramah."
Saul sent messengers to get David, but when they saw the prophets vibing and Samuel leading them, the Spirit of God hit them, and they started prophesying too.
Saul heard about it and sent more messengers, and they prophesied too. Then he sent messengers a third time, and they were on the same wave.
Saul went to Ramah and found a big well in Sechu, asking, "Where’s Samuel and David?" They said, "They’re at Naioth in Ramah."
He went to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God hit him too, and he started prophesying until he got there.
He stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel, laying there naked all day and night. That’s why they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
