Gen Z: Zephaniah 1
Yo, this is the word from the Lord that hit Zephaniah, Cushi's kid, who’s got Gedaliah, Amariah, and Hizkiah in his fam, back when Josiah, Amon's son, was king of Judah.
God’s like, “I’m about to wipe everything off the land, no cap.”
I’m taking out people and animals; I’ll clear out the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and all the bad vibes with the wicked; I’m cutting off humanity from the land, says the Lord.
I’m reaching out my hand to Judah and everyone in Jerusalem; I’ll take out the remaining Baal fans and those Chemarim priests.
And those who worship the sky gang on their rooftops; and the ones who swear by the Lord and also by Malcham.
And those who turned away from the Lord; and those who haven’t even bothered to seek Him.
Just chill in front of the Lord God, ‘cause the day of the Lord is coming in hot: He’s got a sacrifice ready and has called all his peeps.
When that day hits for the Lord’s sacrifice, I’m gonna check the princes, the king’s kids, and everyone rocking weird outfits.
On that same day, I’ll hit up those who jump on the threshold, filling their bosses’ houses with mad violence and lies.
And on that day, says the Lord, you’ll hear a loud cry from the fish gate, howling from the second, and a crazy crash from the hills.
Howl, ya peeps in Maktesh, ‘cause all the merchants are done for; those who stack silver are outta here.
And when that time rolls around, I’ll search Jerusalem with candles, and I’ll call out the guys who are chilling on their lazy vibes, thinking, “The Lord won’t do good or bad.”
So, all their stuff is gonna get snatched, and their houses will be empty; they’ll build houses but won’t live in them, and plant vineyards but won’t sip that wine.
The epic day of the Lord is coming, it’s super close, and it’s about to pop off; the mighty are gonna cry out hard.
That day is all about wrath, trouble, and stress; it’s gonna be a wasteland, total desolation, dark and gloomy, with clouds everywhere.
A day for the trumpet and alarms against the fortified cities and high towers.
I’ll bring stress on people, making them walk around like they’re blind, ‘cause they’ve messed up against the Lord: their blood will be like dust, and their flesh like waste.
Neither their silver nor their gold is gonna save them when the Lord’s wrath hits; the whole land's gonna be burned up with His jealousy: He’s about to clear out everyone living there, fr.
