Gen Z: Psalms 90
Yo, God’s been our home since day one, fr.
Before the mountains were a thing, and before Earth was even formed, you’ve always been God, no cap.
You turn humans to dust; then you’re like, “Yo, come back, fam.”
A thousand years to you is just like yesterday, or a quick watch at night, vibe check.
You sweep them away like a flood; they’re like a dream: in the morning, they’re just grass that pops up.
In the morning it’s thriving, but by evening it’s cut down and wilting, savage.
We’re totally consumed by your anger; your wrath got us stressed, no cap.
You’ve laid our wrongs out in front of you, our hidden sins are lit up in your light.
All our days are gone under your wrath; we spend our years like a story that gets told.
Our lifespan is like 70 years; if we’re lucky, maybe 80, but even then it’s just hard work and pain before we dip out.
Who knows how strong your anger is? Your fear is real, and so is your wrath, periodt.
So teach us how to count our days, so we can get our hearts right with wisdom.
Come back, God, how long we gotta wait? Change your mind about your peeps.
Fill us up with your mercy early, so we can vibe and be happy all our days.
Make us happy like the days you’ve put us through struggles, and the years we’ve seen some rough times.
Show your work to your servants, and let your glory shine on their kids.
Let the beauty of our God be on us; establish the work of our hands, for real.
