Gen Z: Psalms 39
I said, I'm gonna watch my vibes so I don’t spill any tea with my tongue: I’ll keep my mouth in check while the sus ones are around.
I was totally mute, just vibing in silence, even when I had good stuff to say; my feels were lowkey stirred up.
My heart was on fire inside me, while I was deep in thought: then I started to speak up.
Yo, Lord, help me know my endgame and how long I got; I wanna get how fragile I really am.
Check it, you made my days super short; my age is basically nada to you: for real, every dude at his peak is just vibes. Selah.
For sure, every guy is just flexing for no reason: they’re stressed for nothing; stacking paper, but clueless on who’s gonna take it.
So now, Lord, what am I waiting for? My hope is straight up with you.
Save me from all my mess-ups: don’t let me be the joke of the fools.
I stayed quiet, didn’t say a word; 'cause you were the one doing it.
Take your hand off me: I’m wiped out from the hits I’m taking.
When you correct a dude for his wrongs, you make his good looks fade away like a moth: for real, every guy is just vanity. Selah.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and listen to my cry; don’t stay silent when I’m tearing up: 'cause I’m just a stranger with you, and a traveler, like all my ancestors were.
O spare me, so I can get my strength back, before I bounce and am no more.
