Psalms 39

Gen Z: Psalms 39

1I said, I'm gonna watch my vibes so I don’t spill any tea with my tongue: I’ll keep my mouth in check while the sus ones are around.

2I was totally mute, just vibing in silence, even when I had good stuff to say; my feels were lowkey stirred up.

3My heart was on fire inside me, while I was deep in thought: then I started to speak up.

4Yo, Lord, help me know my endgame and how long I got; I wanna get how fragile I really am.

5Check it, you made my days super short; my age is basically nada to you: for real, every dude at his peak is just vibes. Selah.

6For sure, every guy is just flexing for no reason: they’re stressed for nothing; stacking paper, but clueless on who’s gonna take it.

7So now, Lord, what am I waiting for? My hope is straight up with you.

8Save me from all my mess-ups: don’t let me be the joke of the fools.

9I stayed quiet, didn’t say a word; 'cause you were the one doing it.

10Take your hand off me: I’m wiped out from the hits I’m taking.

11When you correct a dude for his wrongs, you make his good looks fade away like a moth: for real, every guy is just vanity. Selah.

12Hear my prayer, O Lord, and listen to my cry; don’t stay silent when I’m tearing up: 'cause I’m just a stranger with you, and a traveler, like all my ancestors were.

13O spare me, so I can get my strength back, before I bounce and am no more.

KJV: Psalms 39

1I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

2I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

3My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

4Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

5Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

6Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

7And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

8Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

9I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

10Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

11When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

12Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

13O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.
