Gen Z: Numbers 9
And the Lord hit up Moses in the Sinai desert, in the first month of year two after they dipped from Egypt, saying,
Let the fam of Israel keep the Passover when it's their time.
On the fourteenth day of this month, at night, keep it like it's meant to be: do all the rituals and ceremonies, no cap.
Moses told the kids of Israel to keep the Passover, periodt.
They kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at night in the Sinai desert: just like the Lord told Moses, the kids of Israel did it.
Some guys were unclean 'cause they touched a dead body, so they couldn't keep the Passover that day: they came to Moses and Aaron about it.
Those guys were like, "We're unclean from a dead body: why are we held back? We wanna offer to the Lord during the right time with the fam of Israel!"
Moses said, "Chill for a sec, and I'll see what the Lord says about you."
And the Lord told Moses, saying,
Tell the kids of Israel, "If any of you or your future fam is unclean from a dead body or far away, they still gotta keep the Passover for the Lord."
On the fourteenth day of the second month at night, they should keep it and eat it with no yeast and bitter herbs, fr.
They can't leave any of it till morning or break any bones: just follow all the Passover rules, that's how it goes.
But if a dude is clean and not traveling, but skips the Passover, that soul will be cut off from their people: 'cause they didn't bring the Lord's offering at the right time, that dude's gotta own their sin.
If a stranger is chilling with you and wants to keep the Passover for the Lord, they gotta follow the same rules: one law for everyone, both for the stranger and the local peeps.
When the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered it, like the tent of testimony: at night it looked like fire until morning.
It was always like that: cloud by day, fire by night, vibes.
When the cloud lifted from the tabernacle, the kids of Israel moved out: wherever the cloud stopped, that's where they set up camp.
By the Lord's command, they traveled, and by His command, they set up camp: as long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they kicked it in their tents.
If the cloud hung out on the tabernacle for days, the kids of Israel followed the Lord's orders and stayed put.
So when the cloud was there for a few days, they chilled in their tents, and when it lifted, they bounced.
If the cloud stayed from evening to morning and lifted in the morning, they moved out: whether it was day or night, they followed the cloud.
Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, the kids of Israel stayed in their tents and didn't move: but when it lifted, they journeyed.
By the Lord's command, they rested in the tents, and by His command, they journeyed: they followed the Lord's orders through Moses.
