Gen Z: Nehemiah 12
So, these are the priests and Levites who rolled up with Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, fr.
Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, no cap.
Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, all part of the squad.
Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah, keeping it lit.
Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah, they vibin’.
Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah, bringing that good energy.
Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the top priests and their crew back in Jeshua's day, bet.
Plus the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was all about that thanksgiving vibe with his crew.
Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their crew was holding it down in the watches, fr.
And Jeshua had Joiakim, and Joiakim had Eliashib, and Eliashib had Joiada, keeping the fam tree strong.
Joiada had a kid named Jonathan, and Jonathan had Jaddua. Family tree vibes.
Back in the days of Joiakim, the priests were the main squad: Seraiah, Meraiah; Jeremiah, Hananiah; real ones.
Then you got Ezra and Meshullam; Amariah and Jehohanan, keeping it lit.
Melicu had Jonathan; Shebaniah had Joseph, just stacking the roster.
Harim repped Adna; Meraioth was all about Helkai, no cap.
Iddo had Zechariah; Ginnethon brought in Meshullam, straight up.
Abijah had Zichri; Miniamin and Moadiah were all about Piltai, periodt.
Bilgah had Shammua; Shemaiah was with Jehonathan, that’s savage.
Joiarib had Mattenai; Jedaiah was rolling with Uzzi, keeping it 100.
Sallai had Kallai; Amok was vibing with Eber, just chilling.
Hilkiah and Hashabiah, Jedaiah and Nethaneel, all part of the squad.
The Levites during Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua were the OGs, also the priests, rollin’ with Darius the Persian.
Levi’s fam, the top dogs, were written in the chronicles until Johanan, Eliashib’s kid.
The Levite chiefs: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua, Kadmiel's son, with their crew, ready to praise and give thanks, just like David said.
Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub were the gatekeepers, holding it down at the thresholds.
This all went down in the days of Joiakim, Jeshua’s son, and Nehemiah the governor, plus Ezra the priest, the scribe.
At the wall dedication of Jerusalem, they called up the Levites from everywhere to vibe with the dedication, all about the thanks and singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps.
The singer squad linked up from the fields around Jerusalem and the Netophathi villages.
Also from Gilgal's crib, and the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, ‘cause the singers built their own spots around Jerusalem.
The priests and Levites cleaned themselves up, got the people right, and purified the gates and the wall.
So I gathered the Judah squad on the wall, and set up two dope crews to give thanks, one vibing on the right side by the dung gate.
Hoshaiah and half the Judah crew rolled out after them, no cap.
Then came Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam, all part of the squad.
Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, and Jeremiah were in the mix too.
And some priest's kids had trumpets, like Zechariah, son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Michaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph—big family vibes.
His crew, Shemaiah, Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, were rocking David's musical vibes, with Ezra leading the charge.
At the fountain gate, they climbed up the stairs of the city of David, going up the wall, past David's crib, all the way to the water gate eastward.
The other crew giving thanks was opposite them, and I was trailing behind, with half the people on the wall, from the furnace tower to the broad wall, lit.
From above the Ephraim gate, past the old gate, fish gate, Hananeel tower, Meah tower, all the way to the sheep gate, they paused at the prison gate.
So the two crews giving thanks stood in the house of God, with me and half the rulers, just chilling.
And the squad of priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers were vibin' loud, with Jezrahiah their hype man.
That day they threw down some serious sacrifices and were lit: God made them feel all the joy: the wives and kids were also hype: the joy of Jerusalem was heard from way far off.
At that time, some were put in charge of the treasure rooms for the offerings, firstfruits, and tithes, gathering the goods from the fields for the priests and Levites: Judah was vibin' for the priests and Levites who were waiting.
Both the singers and the porters kept it 100 with their God, following the command of David and his son Solomon.
Back in the day of David and Asaph, there were the top singers, and they dropped songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and Nehemiah gave their portions to the singers and porters, every day getting their share: they made holy things for the Levites; and the Levites made them holy for the kids of Aaron.
