Gen Z: Matthew 20
The kingdom of heaven is like a dude who owns a crib and dips out early to scoop some workers for his vineyard.
He vibes with the workers for a chill penny a day and sends them into his vineyard.
Then he rolls out around the third hour and sees some peeps just standing there, looking sus in the marketplace.
He tells them, "Yo, hit up the vineyard, and I’ll hook you up with what’s fair." So they bounce.
He does the same thing around the sixth and ninth hour, just keepin’ it consistent.
Then at the eleventh hour, he finds more peeps just chilling and asks, "Why y’all just vibing here all day?"
They reply, "No one’s hired us." He’s like, "Bet, go to the vineyard, and you’ll get what’s right."
When evening hit, the boss of the vineyard tells his manager, "Call the workers and pay them, starting from the last to the first."
So the ones hired at the eleventh hour roll up, and each gets a penny.
But when the first ones came, they thought they’d get more, but they also got a penny each, no cap.
When they got their cash, they started lowkey complaining about the boss man.
They were like, "These last peeps only worked an hour, and you treat them like us who grinded all day. That's sus."
But he hit back, "Yo, I ain't done you wrong, did we not agree on a penny?"
"Take what's yours and bounce; I’m giving this last dude the same as you."
"Ain't it my right to do what I want with my stuff? You mad 'cause I'm good?"
"So the last are gonna be first, and the first last: lots get called, but few are chosen, fr."
Then Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, pulled the twelve disciples aside, and said,
"Check it, we’re heading to Jerusalem; the Son of Man's gonna get betrayed by the big shots and the scribes, and they’ll put him to death."
"They’ll hand him over to the Gentiles to roast him, whip him, and nail him up: but on the third day, he’s gonna pop off and rise again."
Then the mom of Zebedee's kids came to him with her sons, vibing and wanting something from him.
He was like, "What do you want?" She said, "Can my two sons chill, one on your right and the other on your left in your kingdom?"
But Jesus was like, "Y'all don’t even know what you're asking. Can you handle the cup I'm about to drink and the baptism I'm about to go through?" They replied, "We got this."
He told them, "You will drink from my cup and be baptized like me, but sitting on my right or left? That's not mine to give; it's for those my Father has ready."
When the ten heard this, they were lowkey mad at the two bros.
Jesus called them over and said, "You know the bosses of the Gentiles flex their power, and the big shots rule over them."
But it ain't like that with you: whoever wants to be great, gotta be your hype man;
and whoever wants to be the GOAT, gotta be your servant.
Just like the Son of Man came to serve, not to be served, and to give his life as a total sacrifice for many.
As they left Jericho, a huge crowd was vibin' and following him.
And, check it, two blind guys chilling by the road, when they heard Jesus was passing by, they shouted, "Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David!"
The crowd was like, "Chill, fam," but they were like, "Nah, we need your mercy, Lord, Son of David, fr."
Jesus paused, called them over, and asked, "What do you want me to do for you?"
They replied, "Lord, we just wanna see, no cap."
Jesus felt for them, touched their eyes, and boom—suddenly they could see and started vibing with him.
