Gen Z: Joshua 14
These are the spots the Israelites snagged in Canaan, handed out by Eleazar, Joshua, and the tribe heads. Major rizz move.
They rolled the dice for their land, just like the Lord told Moses for the nine tribes and half a tribe.
Moses hooked up two tribes and a half on the other side of Jordan, but the Levites got nada.
Joseph's crew was two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, so the Levites got no land, just cities to chill in and space for their livestock.
The Israelites did what the Lord told Moses, and they split the land like pros.
Then Judah's squad rolled up to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb, Jephunneh's son, was like, "You know what the Lord said about us back in Kadesh-barnea."
I was 40 when Moses sent me from Kadesh-barnea to scope the land, and I gave him the lowdown straight from my heart.
But my bros who went with me made everyone nervous; I was all in for the Lord my God, though.
Moses swore that day, saying, "The land you walked on will be yours and your kids' forever, 'cause you followed the Lord hard."
Now peep this: the Lord kept me alive, like He promised, for 45 years since He told Moses while the Israelites were wandering. Now I'm 85, no cap.
I'm still as strong today as I was when Moses sent me; my strength's lit for war, ready to roll out and come back.
So, give me that mountain the Lord talked about; you heard how the Anakims were there, and the cities were huge and fortified. If the Lord's with me, I’ll drive them out, no doubt.
Joshua blessed him and hooked Caleb up with Hebron for his inheritance.
So Hebron became Caleb's land, 'cause he fully followed the Lord God of Israel, and that's still the vibe today.
Hebron was called Kirjath-arba before; Arba was a big deal among the Anakims. The land finally got some peace.
