John 7

Gen Z: John 7

1After these things, Jesus was vibing in Galilee, 'cause he wasn't trying to roll with the Jews who wanted him gone.

2So, the Jews' feast of tabernacles was coming up, no cap.

3His bros were like, "Yo, dip out and hit Judea so your squad can peep the lit stuff you're doing."

4No one does things in secret and wants to stay low-key. If you're about that life, show yourself to the world, periodt.

5But his bros were sus and didn't believe in him, fr.

6Jesus hit them with, "My time ain't here yet, but y'all are always ready to pop off."

7The world can't hate you; it’s me they can't stand, 'cause I'm calling out its shady vibes.

8Go up to the feast, I'm chillin' for now, 'cause my time ain't fully here yet.

9After he said that, he stayed in Galilee, just vibing.

10But once his bros bounced, he also went to the feast, but low-key, like it was a secret mission.

11The Jews were lowkey looking for him at the feast, asking, "Where he at?"

12There was a lot of chatter among the crowd about him: some were like, "He’s a good dude," while others were like, "Nah, he’s just playing us."

13But no one wanted to spill the tea about him 'cause they were scared of the Jews.

14In the middle of the feast, Jesus rolled up to the temple and started teaching.

15The Jews were shook, saying, "How does this guy know all this stuff without even hitting the books?"

16Jesus hit them with the reply, saying, "My vibe ain’t mine, it’s from the one who sent me."

17If anyone’s down to do his will, they’ll get the scoop on the doctrine, whether it’s from God or just me.

18The one who talks about themselves is just chasing clout, but the one who’s about the glory of the one who sent him is the real deal, no cap.

19Didn’t Moses drop the law on you, and yet none of you are keeping it? Why you tryna take me out?

20The crowd clapped back, "You got a demon! Who’s trying to take you out?"

21Jesus was like, "I did one dope thing, and y'all are shook."

22Moses gave y'all the whole circumcision deal; not his idea, but from the OGs; so you still do it on the Sabbath, right?

23If y'all can do circumcision on the Sabbath to keep the law, why are you mad at me for making a dude completely whole on the Sabbath?

24Don't judge by looks, fam; judge with that righteous vibe.

25Some peeps in Jerusalem were like, "Isn't this the dude they wanna cap?"

26But for real, he’s speaking with mad confidence, and they ain't saying a word. Do the leaders know this is the real deal Christ?

27We know where this guy is from, but when the Christ shows up, nobody knows where he’s from.

28Then Jesus popped off in the temple, saying, "Y'all know me and where I'm from; I'm not here on my own, but the one who sent me is legit, and you don’t know him."

29But I know him, 'cause I came from him, and he sent me.

30They tried to grab him, but no one could touch him, 'cause his time wasn't up yet.

31Mad people were vibing with him, saying, "When Christ shows up, he gotta pop off harder than this dude, right?"

32The Pharisees caught wind of the crowd's tea and sent their squad to scoop him up.

33Jesus was like, "I’m only here for a hot minute, then I’m out to the one who sent me."

34"You’ll be looking for me, but I’m ghosting: where I’m at, you can't roll up."

35The Jews were like, "Where’s he gonna dip to that we can’t find him? Is he hitting up the Gentiles to teach them?"

36"What’s up with this dude saying we’ll seek him but can’t find him? Where he at, we can’t come?"

37On the last day of the feast, Jesus stood up and yelled, "If anyone's thirsty, come through and drink!"

38"Whoever vibes with me, like the scripture says, will have rivers of living water flowing from within."

39(But he was talking about the Spirit, which those who believe in him would get: the Holy Ghost wasn’t dropped yet since Jesus hadn’t been glorified.)

40So a bunch of people, after hearing this, were like, "For real, this guy is the Prophet."

41Some were like, "This is the Christ," but others were sus, asking if the Christ could really come from Galilee.

42Didn't the scripture say that Christ comes from David's fam and is born in Bethlehem, where David repped?

43There was some serious drama among the people 'cause of him.

44Some wanted to grab him, but no one laid a hand on him, fr.

45The officers rolled up to the chief priests and Pharisees, like, "Why didn't you bring him?"

46The officers were like, "No cap, no one talks like this dude."

47The Pharisees shot back, "Y'all got played too?"

48Have any of the big shots or Pharisees actually believed in him?

49But this crowd that doesn’t know the law? Straight cursed.

50Nicodemus was like, "Yo, I'm one of them, and I came to Jesus at night."

51So like, does our law judge someone without hearing them out first? No cap.

52They were like, "Yo, you from Galilee too? Bet, check it: no prophet comes from there."

53And then everyone just dipped to their own crib.

KJV: John 7

1After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

2Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand.

3His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

4For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

5For neither did his brethren believe in him.

6Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

7The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

8Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

9When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

10But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

12And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

13Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

14Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

15And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

16Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

17If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

18He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

19Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

20The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

21Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

22Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

23If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

25Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

26But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

27Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

28Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

29But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

30Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

31And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

32The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

33Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

34Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

35Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

36What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

40Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

41Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

42Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

43So there was a division among the people because of him.

44And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

45Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

46The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

47Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

48Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

49But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

50Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

51Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

52They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

53And every man went unto his own house.
