Gen Z: Job 29
Job's still spitting facts, saying,
Man, I wish I was back in the good ol' days when God had my back;
When His light was shining on me, and I was vibing through the dark;
Back in my youth, when God's secrets were chilling in my space;
When the Big Guy was with me, and my kids were all around;
When I was living large, washing my steps with butter, and rocks were spilling oil like it was nothing;
When I rolled out to the city gate, setting up my throne in the streets!
The young bucks saw me and dipped, while the OGs stood up like, "Respect."
The princes kept it quiet, putting their hands on their mouths like, "Whoa."
The nobles were silent, like their tongues were glued to the roof of their mouths.
When people heard me, they blessed me; when they saw me, they were like, "Facts."
'Cause I was there for the needy, and the orphans, and those with no one to help them.
The blessing of those about to fade away came upon me, and I made the widow's heart sing.
I put on righteousness like a fit that slaps, my judgment was like a crown.
I was the eyes for the blind, and the feet for the lame.
I was a dad to the poor, and I searched out causes I didn’t even know about.
I broke the jaws of the wicked and snatched the spoils right outta their teeth.
I said, "I'm gonna chill in my nest and live long like the sand."
My roots were soaking up the waters, and the dew was laying on my branch all night.
My glory was fresh, and my bow was on point in my hand.
People listened to me, waited, and kept it hush at my words.
After I spoke, they didn’t say a word; my words just hit different.
They were waiting for me like it was about to rain, mouths wide open like it was the real deal.
If I laughed, they were shook; my vibe didn’t drop.
I chose their path, took the lead, living like a king in the crew, comforting those in pain.
