Gen Z: Jeremiah 8
So God’s like, “Yo, bring out the bones of the kings of Judah and all their crew from the graves, for real.”
They gonna lay them out in front of the sun, moon, and all the vibes they loved and served, but they won’t get buried; just straight trash on the ground, no cap.
For real, death’s gonna be the pick over life for the leftovers of this messed-up fam, wherever I sent them, says the Lord of hosts.
Plus, tell them, “God says, are they gonna fall and not get back up? Are they gonna dip and not come back?”
Why's this squad in Jerusalem always sliding back? They’re holding onto lies and won’t come back, periodt.
I listened up, but they weren’t speaking right: no one’s owning their bad moves, just running their own race like horses charging into battle.
Even the storks know their times; the turtle and the crane are on point with their comings; but my peeps don’t get the Lord’s judgment, fr.
How can you say, “We’re wise, and we got the Lord’s law with us”? Nah, he’s just flexing in vain; the scribes are just playing themselves.
The wise ones are shook, getting wrecked and confused; they rejected the Lord’s word, so what wisdom do they even have?
So I’m gonna hand their wives to others and give their fields away; everyone from the least to the greatest is just out here being greedy, no cap.
They barely healed my people’s hurt, saying, “All good, all good,” when it’s really not good at all.
Were they embarrassed about their savage moves? Nah, not at all; they won’t even blush, so they’re gonna fall with the rest when it’s time, says the Lord.
I’m definitely gonna wipe them out, says the Lord: no grapes on the vine, no figs on the tree, and everything I gave them is gonna fade away.
Why are we just chilling? Let’s gather up and hit the fortified cities, and just be quiet there, ‘cause the Lord has us on mute and gave us bitter water to drink for our sins.
We were looking for peace, but nothing good came; we wanted health, but look, just trouble!
The sound of his horses was heard from Dan; the whole land shook from the neighing of the strong ones; they came and devoured everything, even the city and its people.
For real, I’m sending snakes and crazy creatures among you that won’t be tamed, and they’re gonna bite you, says the Lord.
When I tried to comfort myself from the feels, my heart just feels weak, fr.
Check it, the voice of my people crying out ‘cause of those far away: Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her king not here? Why they gotta make me mad with their idols and nonsense?
The harvest is done, summer’s over, and we’re still not saved, fr.
I’m hurt for my people; I’m feeling all kinds of dark; shock has taken over me, no cap.
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no doctor out there? So why isn’t my people’s health coming back?
