Gen Z: Isaiah 9
But the vibes ain’t gonna be as bad as when Zebulun and Naphtali got hit first, then got hit harder by the sea way beyond Jordan in Galilee.
The squad that was walking in darkness just saw a major light: those chilling in the shadow of death, the light is shining on them, no cap.
You’ve leveled up the nation, but the joy’s still sus: they’re vibing like it’s harvest time, just like when folks celebrate after a big win.
You’ve smashed the weight off his back, and the stick of the oppressor, just like back in the Midian days.
Every battle’s usually loud and bloody, but this one’s gonna be all about fire and heat, periodt.
A child’s born to us, a son’s given: the gov is on his shoulders, and his name’s gonna be lit: Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His reign and peace? No cap, it’s never-ending, on David’s throne, setting it up with justice forever. The Lord's hype will make it happen.
The Lord dropped a message to Jacob, and it hit hard on Israel.
Everyone will know, even Ephraim and Samaria, who flex with pride and ego.
The bricks fell, but we’re gonna build it back with solid stones: the sycamores got chopped, but we’ll switch them up to cedars.
So the Lord’s gonna line up Rezin’s enemies against him, bringing the squad together.
The Syrians in front, Philistines in back; they’re gonna feast on Israel like it’s a buffet. But even with all this, the anger’s still there, hands still out.
The people ain’t turning back to the one who hits them or looking for the Lord of hosts, fr.
So the Lord’s cutting off Israel’s head and tail, branch and rush, all in one day, no cap.
The old and respected is the head; the prophet teaching lies is the tail, savage.
The leaders are leading them astray; those following are getting wrecked.
So the Lord’s not feeling the young dudes, no mercy for the orphans and widows: everyone’s a hypocrite and a wrongdoer, talking nonsense. Even with all this, the anger’s still there, hands still out.
Wickedness burns like fire: it’ll eat up the thorns and briars, lighting up the forest like smoke rising.
The Lord’s wrath darkens the land, and the people are like fuel for the fire: no one’s sparing their homies.
He’ll reach out right and still be hungry; he’ll munch on the left and still not be satisfied: everyone’s gonna be eating their own arm, fr.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: they’re gonna squad up against Judah. Even with all this, the anger’s still there, hands still out.
