Gen Z: Isaiah 24
Yo, the Lord's totally emptying the earth, making it a wasteland, flipping it upside down, and scattering the peeps everywhere.
It’s gonna be like, if the crowd's down, so are the priests; if the servant’s struggling, so is the boss; if the buyer's bummed, so is the seller; if the lender's sus, so is the borrower.
The land's gonna be straight-up empty and wrecked, 'cause the Lord said it’s happening, no cap.
The earth’s feeling all sad and faded, the world’s vibing low, and the boujee folks are just languishing.
The earth’s totally messed up 'cause of its peeps; they broke the rules, switched things up, and ditched the eternal covenant.
So, the curse is munching on the earth, and those living there are left empty; the inhabitants are burned out, and it’s slim pickings.
New wine’s all sad, the vine’s struggling, and all the party people are just sighing.
The beats are dead, the hype is gone, and the joy from the harp just stopped.
They won’t be sipping wine with a vibe; strong drinks are gonna taste bitter to those who drink it.
The city’s a hot mess, every house is locked up tight, no one’s getting in.
There’s peeps crying for wine in the streets; all the joy is dark, and the good vibes are gone.
The city’s left in shambles, and the gate's been smashed up.
When it’s all like this in the land, it’ll feel like an olive tree shaking and grapes being picked after harvest.
They’ll raise their voices, singing for the Lord’s glory, crying out from the sea.
So, give props to the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the islands.
From the ends of the earth, we hear songs, giving glory to the righteous. But I’m like, "I’m struggling, I’m struggling, woe is me!" The shady dealers are being shady; for real, they’re super sus.
Fear, traps, and snares are all on you, O earth-dweller.
And it’s gonna be that whoever runs from the fear noise will fall into a trap; and whoever climbs out of that trap will get caught in another; 'cause the windows from up high are open, and the earth’s foundations are shaking.
The earth’s totally broken down, it’s like, clean dissolved, and moving hard.
The earth’s gonna sway like a drunk, and be taken away like a shack; the weight of its wrongs is heavy, and it’s gonna fall, never to rise again.
And it’ll be that day when the Lord’s gonna come for the high-ups and the kings of the earth.
They’ll be gathered like prisoners in a pit and locked up, and after a while, they’ll be checked on.
Then the moon will be shook, and the sun will be embarrassed, when the Lord of hosts reigns on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, looking glorious before his crew.
