Gen Z: Isaiah 13
This is a major vibe check for Babylon, as seen by Isaiah, son of Amoz.
Raise up a banner on that high mountain, shout it out, and wave your hands so they can roll up to the fancy gates.
I called my squad, the ones who are set apart, my rizz-filled warriors for my anger, those who flex in my glory.
You can hear a whole squad in the mountains, it’s like a massive crowd; nations are wildin’ out together: the Lord’s got the battle crew on deck.
They’re rolling in from way far, straight from the end of the sky, even the Lord, with his rage weapons, ready to wreck the whole place.
Y’all better howl; the day of the Lord is coming in hot like a savage destruction from the Almighty.
So everyone’s hands will be weak, and every dude's heart is gonna melt, no cap.
They’ll be shook; pain and sorrow will grab them; it’s gonna feel like labor pains; they’ll be looking at each other, faces lit like flames.
Check it, the day of the Lord is coming, savage with wrath and fierce anger, ready to leave the land in ruins: sinners gonna get wiped out.
For the stars up there and their constellations won’t shine; the sun’s gonna be dark when it comes up, and the moon won’t glow either.
I’m gonna call out the world for their evil, and the wicked for their wrongs; I’ll put the proud in their place and humble the savage ones.
I’ll make a dude more valuable than fine gold, even more than the golden wedge from Ophir.
I’m about to shake the heavens, and the earth’s gonna move from its spot, in the Lord of hosts' rage, on the day of his fierce anger.
It’ll be like a chased deer, or a sheep no one wants; everyone will bounce back to their own people, fleeing to their lands.
Anyone found is gonna get wrecked; and everyone who’s with them will fall by the sword, no cap.
Their kids will get smashed right in front of them; their homes will be looted, and their wives taken.
Check it, I’m stirring up the Medes against them, who won’t care about silver; they won’t even be hyped for gold.
Their bows will crush the young men; they’ll have no mercy on the babies; their eyes won’t spare any kids.
And Babylon, the flex of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees, will go down like when God flipped Sodom and Gomorrah.
It’ll never be lived in again, not even for generations; no Arab will pitch a tent there; no shepherds will fold up their flocks there.
But wild beasts will chill there; their houses will be full of sad creatures; owls will take over, and satyrs will dance.
And the wild beasts from the islands will cry in their empty houses, and dragons in their nice palaces: her time is coming, and her days won’t be extended.
