Gen Z: Isaiah 1
Isaiah, son of Amoz, had a vision about Judah and Jerusalem during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Major vibes.
Yo heavens, listen up! Earth, you too: God’s spoken, “I raised these kids, but they’re acting sus.”
The ox knows his fam, and the donkey knows where he crashes, but Israel? Nah, they’re clueless, fr.
Ah, what a wicked crew, loaded with bad vibes, corrupt kids: they ditched the Lord and made Him mad. Total savage move.
Why you still getting wrecked? You just keep acting up: the whole squad's sick, and the heart is weak, no cap.
From your feet to your head, it’s all messed up; just wounds and bruises everywhere, no one’s fixing it. So sus.
Your land's a ghost town, cities on fire: strangers are eating it up right in front of you, total disaster.
Zion’s like a chill spot in a vineyard, just a lonely cottage, like a city under siege.
If the Lord hadn’t kept a tiny squad with us, we’d be just like Sodom and Gomorrah, for real.
Listen up, rulers of Sodom; pay attention to God’s law, people of Gomorrah. This is lit.
Yo, what’s up with all these sacrifices? God’s like, “I’m full on all that burnt stuff; no cap, I don’t vibe with the blood of bulls or goats.”
When you roll up to see me, who told you to step into my crib like that?
Stop with the empty offerings; incense ain’t it for me; new moons and sabbaths? Nah, that’s sus, I’m not about that solemn gathering life.
Your new moons and feasts? My soul can’t even with those; they’re just a hassle, fr; I’m tired of dealing with it.
When you throw your hands up, I’m gonna look away; even when you pray a ton, I won’t hear you; your hands are mad bloody.
Clean yourselves up; ditch the bad vibes in front of me; just stop doing evil.
Learn to do good; seek justice, help the oppressed, take care of orphans, and stand up for widows.
Let’s chat about this, says the Lord: even if your sins are fire, they can be fresh as snow; if they’re red like blood, they can be pure like wool.
If you’re down and obedient, you’ll feast on the good stuff from the land.
But if you’re gonna act up and rebel, you’re gonna get wrecked; that’s what the Lord said, periodt.
How did the faithful city turn into a total mess? It used to be all about justice; now it’s just a murder vibe.
Your silver's looking sus, and your wine's watered down, no cap.
Your leaders are straight-up rebellious, rolling with thieves; everyone loves a good gift and chases rewards. They don’t even care about the orphans or widows.
So, the Lord, the boss of all, the mighty One of Israel, is like, "I’m done with my enemies; watch me pop off."
I’m about to put my hand on you, clean you up, and get rid of all that junk.
I’ll bring back your judges like the OGs, and your advisors will be on point again: then you’ll be known as the city of righteousness, the faithful city.
Zion's gonna be redeemed with justice, and her peeps with righteousness, fr.
The sinners and transgressors are gonna be in it together, and those who ditch the Lord will be totally consumed.
You’ll be shook over the oaks you wanted, and you’ll feel embarrassed about the gardens you picked.
You’ll be like an oak with no leaves and a garden that’s all dried up.
The strong vibe like tow, and the creator's just a spark, they’re both lit together, and no one’s putting that fire out.
