Gen Z: Haggai 1
In the second year of Darius the king, sixth month, first day, Haggai the prophet slid into Zerubbabel's DMs, saying what’s good.
The squad's like, "Nah, it’s not time to build the Lord’s crib yet."
Then Haggai hit them with another message from the Lord, saying,
Yo, is it time for you to chill in your comfy houses while the Lord’s house is just sitting there?
So the Lord's like, "Think about your vibes, fam."
You’re grinding hard but reaping little; you eat but still hungry, drink but still thirsty, dress but still cold; it’s like you’re making stacks but they’re going into a bag with holes.
The Lord’s saying, "For real, think about your vibes."
Hit up the mountain, grab some wood, and build the house; I’ll be stoked and get all the glory, says the Lord.
You expected a lot, but it came in light; and when you brought it home, I blew on it. Why? says the Lord. 'Cause my house is a mess, and you’re all busy with your own stuff.
So the skies above you are dry, and the earth’s not giving up its fruit.
I called for a drought on the land, mountains, crops, new wine, oil, and everything you work hard for.
Then Zerubbabel and Joshua, with the crew, listened to the Lord’s voice and Haggai’s words, and they were shook, fearing the Lord.
Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, said to the people, "I’m with you," says the Lord.
The Lord pumped up Zerubbabel, Joshua, and the whole crew, and they got to work on the Lord’s house, their God.
On the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in Darius’ second year.
