Gen Z: Genesis 23
Sarah was 127 years old, and that's her whole vibe.
Sarah passed away in Kirjath-arba (aka Hebron in Canaan), and Abraham came to mourn and shed a few tears, no cap.
Abraham got up from his spot and talked to the sons of Heth, saying,
"I’m just a traveler here, so can I get a spot to bury my homie outta sight?"
The kids of Heth replied to Abraham, saying,
"Listen up, bro: you’re a big deal here. Choose any of our graves for your dead; we got you."
Abraham stood up and showed respect to the people of the land and the sons of Heth.
He chatted with them, saying, "If you’re cool with it, I need to bury my dead outta sight; please talk to Ephron, Zohar's son, for me."
"Tell him to hook me up with the cave of Machpelah at the end of his field; I’ll pay whatever it’s worth for a burial spot."
Ephron was chillin' with the sons of Heth, and he answered Abraham in front of everyone at the city gate, saying,
Yo, my dude, check it: I’m giving you this field and the cave in it, all in front of my peeps. Just bury your dead here, fr.
And Abraham straight up bowed to the people like, "Respect."
He told Ephron, with everyone watching, "If you’re down to give it, listen up: I’ll drop some cash for the field; just take it, and I’ll bury my dead there."
Ephron hit back at Abraham, saying,
"Yo, my dude, listen: the land’s worth 400 shekels of silver; what’s that between us? Just bury your dead."
Abraham was like, "Bet," and he weighed out the silver Ephron named, 400 shekels, legit cash.
So, Ephron’s field in Machpelah, before Mamre, with the cave and all the trees around it, got locked in for Abraham.
It was confirmed for Abraham in front of the Heth fam, right at the city gate, no cap.
After that, Abraham buried Sarah, his wife, in the cave of Machpelah, which is Hebron in Canaan.
The field and the cave were secured for Abraham as a legit burial spot by the sons of Heth.
