Gen Z: Deuteronomy 3
So we bounced and headed to Bashan, and Og, the king, rolled up with his crew ready to throw down at Edrei.
The Lord hit me up, saying, "Don’t be scared of him; I got you. I’ll hand him, his crew, and his land right over to you, and you’ll treat him like you did Sihon, the king of the Amorites at Heshbon."
So our God came through and gave us Og, the king of Bashan, and his whole squad; we took him out, leaving no one standing.
We snatched all his cities then; not a single one slipped through our fingers—sixty cities in total from the Argob region, all part of Og’s kingdom in Bashan.
All those cities were stacked with high walls, gates, and bars; plus, there were a ton of chill towns without walls.
We completely wiped them out, just like we did to Sihon, king of Heshbon, taking out all the dudes, ladies, and kids from every city.
But we kept all the livestock and the loot from the cities for ourselves, no cap.
We took the land from the two kings of the Amorites on this side of the Jordan, from the Arnon river all the way to Mount Hermon.
(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Shenir.)
All the cities in the plain, Gilead, and Bashan, up to Salchah and Edrei, were part of Og's kingdom in Bashan.
Only Og, the king of Bashan, was left from the giant squad; his bed was made of iron, no cap. It’s in Rabbath of the Ammon fam, and it’s nine cubits long and four cubits wide, like a human-sized vibe.
This land we had back then, from Aroer by the Arnon river and half of mount Gilead, I gave to the Reubenites and Gadites.
The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, went to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the Argob area, which was the land of giants, fr.
Jair, Manasseh’s son, took all the Argob land up to Geshuri and Maachathi; he named it Bashan–havoth–jair, and that’s still the name today, periodt.
I handed Gilead over to Machir.
To the Reubenites and Gadites, I gave from Gilead to the Arnon river, half the valley, and the border to the Jabbok river, which is the Ammon fam’s line.
The plain, the Jordan, and its coasts, from Chinnereth to the salt sea, under Ashdoth–pisgah eastward, all lit.
I told you back then, “The Lord your God has given you this land to vibe in: you gotta roll out armed with your bros, the Israelites, all ready for war.”
But your wives, kids, and cattle (I know you got a lot of that) can chill in your cities I gave you.
Until the Lord gives your bros some rest, just like you, and until they also get the land the Lord your God gave them beyond Jordan; then you can bounce back to your own spot I gave you.
I told Joshua back then, "You’ve seen all the wild stuff God did to those two kings; He’s gonna do the same to all the kingdoms you roll up on.
Don’t even sweat them; the Lord your God’s got your back and He’s ready to throw down for you.
I hit up the Lord back then, saying,
Yo, Lord God, you’ve started showing me your greatness and your power; like, what other God is out there in heaven or on earth that can do what you do?
I’m just tryna check out the good land past Jordan, that dope mountain, and Lebanon.
But the Lord was mad at me because of you all and didn’t wanna hear me; He said, "Chill, just drop it; don’t talk to me about this anymore."
Get up to the top of Pisgah, look around to the west, north, south, and east, and peep it with your own eyes; you’re not crossing this Jordan.
But tell Joshua to pop off, hype him up, and give him some strength; he’s gonna lead this crew across and help them claim the land you’ll see.
So we just chilled in the valley across from Beth–peor.
