Gen Z: Amos 9
I saw the Lord vibin' at the altar, and He said, “Smite the lintel of the door so the posts can shake. Cut them in the head, all of them; I’ll slay the last with the sword. No cap, whoever tries to bounce ain’t getting away.”
Even if they dig into hell, my hand’s gonna grab them; if they try to climb to heaven, I’ll bring them down, periodt.
If they think they can hide on top of Carmel, I’ll find them; and if they’re chillin’ at the bottom of the sea, I’ll send the serpent to bite them.
If they get captured by their enemies, I’ll command the sword to slay them. I’m watching them for bad vibes, not good ones.
The Lord God of hosts is the one who touches the land, and it melts. Everyone living there is gonna mourn; it’ll rise like a flood and drown like Egypt’s flood.
He’s the one building His stories in heaven and has His crew on earth; He calls for the sea's waters and pours them out on the land. The Lord is His name.
Are you not like the Ethiopians to me, O Israel? Says the Lord. Didn’t I bring Israel up from Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
Check it, the Lord God’s eyes are on the sinful kingdom, and I’m about to wipe it off the earth; but I won’t totally destroy Jacob’s house, says the Lord.
For real, I’m gonna command and sift the house of Israel among all nations, like corn in a sieve, and not a single grain will hit the ground.
All the sinners of my people are gonna catch the sword, saying, “Evil won’t catch us or stop us.”
On that day, I’ll raise up David’s fallen tabernacle, fix the gaps; I’ll rebuild his ruins like back in the day.
So they can take back the remnant of Edom and all the nations called by my name, says the Lord who’s doing this.
Look, the days are coming, says the Lord, when the plowman will catch up with the reaper, and the grape treader with the seed sower; mountains will drop sweet wine, and all the hills will melt.
I’ll bring my people Israel back from captivity, and they’ll rebuild the cities and live in them; they’ll plant vineyards and drink the wine; they’ll make gardens and eat the fruit.
I’ll plant them in their land, and they won’t be uprooted again from the land I’ve given them, says the Lord your God.
