Gen Z: Amos 7
Yo, the Lord God showed me some wild stuff; check it, He made grasshoppers poppin' up when the plants were vibin' again after the king's harvests.
After they finished munching on the grass, I was like, "Yo Lord, please forgive! Who's gonna lift up Jacob? He's kinda small, no cap."
The Lord was like, "Nah, I'm good on that," and changed His mind, periodt.
Then the Lord showed me again: He was ready to throw down with fire, and it straight-up consumed the deep waters and took a chunk out.
I was like, "Lord, chill, please! Who's gonna lift up Jacob? He's kinda small, fr."
The Lord was like, "Nah, this ain't happening either," for real.
He showed me again: the Lord was standing on a wall with a plumbline in His hand, looking all serious.
The Lord asked me, "Amos, what do you see?" I said, "A plumbline." Then the Lord was like, "Bet, I'm setting a plumbline among my people Israel; I ain't gonna pass by them again."
The high places for Isaac are about to be wrecked, and Israel's sanctuaries are gonna be total ruins; I'm coming for Jeroboam's house with the sword.
Then Amaziah, the priest, hit up Jeroboam, saying, "Amos is plotting against you in Israel; the land can't handle his tea."
Amos is saying Jeroboam's gonna get taken out by the sword, and Israel's gonna be dragged away from their own land, no cap.
Amaziah told Amos, "Yo seer, bounce to Judah, grab some food, and prophesy there."
"But don’t prophesy at Beth-el again; that’s the king’s spot, and the court’s all about him."
Amos replied, "I ain't no prophet or prophet's kid; I was just a shepherd and picked sycamore fruit."
The Lord scooped me up while I was chillin' with the flock and said, "Go, prophesy to my people Israel."
So listen up: You say, "Don’t prophesy against Israel," and keep your mouth shut about Isaac's house.
The Lord says, "Your wife’s gonna be a harlot in the city, your kids gonna fall by the sword, your land's gonna be split up; you’ll die in a dirty land, and for sure Israel's gonna be taken away from their land."
