Gen Z: 2 Samuel 9
And David was like, "Is there anyone left in Saul's crew so I can show some kindness for Jonathan's sake? Vibes."
There was a servant named Ziba from Saul's house. They called him to David, and the king was like, "Yo, you Ziba?" He replied, "Yeah, that's me, no cap."
The king asked, "Is there anyone left from Saul's fam so I can show God's kindness?" Ziba said, "Jonathan's got a son, but he's lame."
The king was like, "Where's he at?" Ziba replied, "He's chillin' at Machir's place, son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar."
Then King David sent for him and brought him out from Machir's house in Lo-debar. Lit move.
When Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son, came to David, he fell on his face, showing mad respect. David was like, "Mephibosheth." He answered, "What’s up, your servant?"
David said, "Don't be scared; I’m gonna show you kindness for your dad Jonathan, and I’ll give you back all Saul's land. You’ll eat at my table all the time, fr."
He bowed down and said, "Why would you look at a dead dog like me?" Savage.
Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said, "I’ve given your master’s son everything that belonged to Saul and his house."
"You and your sons and your servants will work the land for him, bringing in the harvest so your master’s son has food. But Mephibosheth will always eat at my table." Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants, no cap.
Ziba replied to the king, "Whatever you say, my lord, I’ll do. And about Mephibosheth, he’ll eat at my table like one of the king’s sons."
Mephibosheth had a young son named Micha, and everyone in Ziba’s house were servants to Mephibosheth.
So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, eating at the king's table all the time, but he was lame on both feet. Bussin' life.
