Gen Z: 2 Kings 24
So, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, pulled up and made Jehoiakim his servant for three years, then dude straight up rebelled.
The Lord sent some squads, like the Chaldees, Syrians, Moabites, and Ammonites, to wreck Judah, all according to what He told the prophets.
For real, this happened to Judah 'cause the Lord said so, to kick them outta His sight for Manasseh's sins, like, no cap.
Plus, he spilled innocent blood, filling Jerusalem with it; the Lord was not about to forgive that.
So, like, all the other stuff Jehoiakim did? It’s in the chronicles of the kings of Judah, fr.
Jehoiakim passed away, and his son Jehoiachin took over.
The king of Egypt didn’t come back ‘cause Babylon snagged all his territory, from the river of Egypt to Euphrates.
Jehoiachin was just 18 when he started reigning, and he held it down in Jerusalem for three months. His mom's name was Nehushta, daughter of Elnathan.
He did evil stuff in the Lord’s eyes, just like his dad, periodt.
At that moment, Nebuchadnezzar's crew rolled up on Jerusalem, and the city was totally besieged.
Nebuchadnezzar himself came through, and his squad besieged the city.
Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, went out to meet Nebuchadnezzar, along with his mom, crew, and officers; Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
They took all the treasures from the Lord’s house and the king’s crib, breaking all the gold stuff Solomon made for the temple, just as the Lord said.
They took everyone from Jerusalem, including the princes and ten thousand strong dudes, leaving only the poorest of the land.
Jehoiachin got taken to Babylon, along with the king's mom, wives, officers, and the land's mighty men; all of them were taken captive.
The king of Babylon snagged 7,000 strong men and a thousand craftsmen and smiths, all the war-ready folks, and brought them to Babylon.
The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiakim’s bro, king instead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
Zedekiah was 21 when he started reigning, holding it down for eleven years in Jerusalem. His mom’s name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah.
He did evil stuff in the Lord’s eyes, just like Jehoiakim did, no cap.
The Lord was mad, and it led to Zedekiah rebelling against the king of Babylon, getting kicked out of His presence.
