Gen Z: 2 Kings 21
Manasseh was twelve when he started his reign, and he ruled for 55 years in Jerusalem. His mom's name? Hephzi–bah, no cap.
He was straight up sus in the Lord's eyes, doing all the nasty stuff the other nations did before getting kicked out.
He rebuilt the high spots his dad Hezekiah wiped out; put up altars for Baal, made a grove, and worshipped the whole crew in the sky, fr.
He threw up altars in the Lord's house, where God said, "This is my spot in Jerusalem."
He set up altars for all the heavenly squad in the two courts of the Lord's house, vibes.
He made his son go through the fire, dabbled in magic, and messed with spirits and wizards; he did a lot of wicked stuff to tick off the Lord.
He put a carved image of the grove he made in the house, where the Lord told David and Solomon, "This house in Jerusalem is where I’m putting my name forever."
I’m not moving Israel outta the land I gave their ancestors, only if they follow my commands and the law Moses dropped on them, bet.
But they totally ignored that; Manasseh got them to do even more evil than the nations the Lord wiped out before them, savage.
And the Lord hit up his prophets, saying,
Manasseh, the king, was straight up wildin', doing all the sus stuff that even the Amorites wouldn't do, and he got Judah sinning with his idols, fr.
So God’s like, “Yo, I’m about to drop some serious bad vibes on Jerusalem and Judah, and when you hear about it, your ears gonna tingle, no cap.”
I’m gonna measure Jerusalem like I’m checking out Samaria, and I’ll wipe it clean like a plate, flipping it upside down, periodt.
I’ll ditch the rest of my crew and hand them over to their enemies; they gonna be easy pickings, straight up.
They’ve been acting all kinds of shady since their fam bounced from Egypt, and it’s made me mad, for real.
Manasseh was out here spilling innocent blood like it was nothing, filling up Jerusalem with it, plus all the other savage stuff he made Judah do against God.
So, like, all the other things Manasseh did, and his sins, ain’t they in the history books of the kings of Judah?
Manasseh passed away and got buried in his own garden, and then his son Amon took over, bet.
Amon was just 22 when he started ruling, and he only lasted two years in Jerusalem. His mom was Meshullemeth, daughter of Haruz from Jotbah.
He was doing all the shady stuff just like his dad Manasseh, no doubt.
He straight-up walked the same path as his dad, vibed with the idols his dad vibed with, and worshipped them too.
He ghosted the Lord God of his fam, and totally didn’t follow the Lord’s way.
Amon's crew plotted against him and took him out in his own crib.
The locals took out everyone who conspired against King Amon, and then they crowned Josiah, his son, as the new king.
So like, are the rest of Amon's deeds not in the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
He got laid to rest in his tomb in Uzza's garden, and then Josiah, his son, took over the throne.
