Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 7
So Solomon finished praying, and boom! Fire came down from heaven, lighting up the burnt offerings and sacrifices; the vibes of the Lord filled the whole place.
The priests couldn’t even step into the Lord’s house 'cause the glory was just too lit in there.
When all the Israelites saw the fire drop and the glory of the Lord on the house, they hit the ground, worshipping and praising the Lord, saying, “He’s goated; His mercy is forever, no cap.”
Then the king and everyone else popped off with sacrifices before the Lord.
King Solomon dropped a massive sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep; the king and the crew dedicated the house of God like it was a big deal.
The priests were on duty, and the Levites were vibing with the music instruments David made to praise the Lord, 'cause His mercy is forever; while David praised, they sounded trumpets, and all Israel stood up.
Solomon made the middle of the court holy, offering burnt offerings and peace offerings since his altar couldn’t handle all that fire and meat.
At the same time, Solomon threw a lit feast for seven days, with all Israel vibing hard, from Hamath to the river of Egypt.
On the eighth day, they had a solemn assembly, keeping the dedication of the altar and the feast for seven days straight.
On the 23rd day of the seventh month, he sent everyone back to their tents, all happy and merry for the goodness the Lord showed to David, Solomon, and Israel.
So Solomon wrapped up the Lord's house and his own pad; everything he dreamed of making in the Lord's house popped off.
The Lord showed up to Solomon at night, saying, “I heard your prayer and chose this spot for my house of sacrifice.”
If I shut up heaven so there's no rain, or if I order locusts to munch on the land, or if I send plagues among my people;
If my people called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their sus ways; then I’ll hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
My eyes will be open, and my ears will be tuned in to the prayers made in this place.
I’ve picked and made this house holy, so my name stays here forever; my eyes and heart will be here always.
And if you walk with me like David did, keeping all my commands and observing my rules;
Then I’ll set up your kingdom's throne just like I promised David, saying, “You’ll always have a ruler in Israel.”
But if you dip and ditch my commands, serving other gods and worshipping them;
Then I’ll uproot you from my land and toss this house I made for my name outta my sight, turning it into a meme among all nations.
This high house will leave everyone shook who passes by, and they’ll be like, “Why did the Lord do this to the land and this house?”
And they’ll say, “'Cause they ditched the Lord God of their ancestors, who brought them outta Egypt, and went after other gods, worshipping and serving them; that’s why all this bad stuff happened.”
