Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 21
Jehoshaphat kicked the bucket and was buried with his fam in David's city. His son Jehoram took over the throne, no cap.
He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Michael, and Shephatiah. All these were Jehoshaphat's squad, king of Israel.
Their dad hooked them up with mad gifts of silver, gold, and other dope stuff, plus some fortified cities in Judah. But the kingdom? That went to Jehoram, 'cause he was the firstborn.
When Jehoram took the throne, he flexed hard and took out all his brothers with the sword, plus some of the princes in Israel. Savage move.
Jehoram was 32 when he started reigning, and he held it down in Jerusalem for eight years.
He walked the same path as the kings of Israel, just like Ahab's fam, 'cause he married Ahab's daughter and did some sus stuff in the Lord's eyes.
But the Lord was like, “Nah, I’m not taking down David's house,” 'cause of the promise He made to David, giving him and his sons a light forever.
During his reign, the Edomites were like, “We out,” and crowned their own king.
Jehoram rolled out with his crew and all his chariots, rising up at night to take down the Edomites who had him surrounded, plus the chariot captains.
So the Edomites bounced from Judah and Libnah did the same, 'cause he ditched the Lord God of his pops.
He built high places in Judah, got the Jerusalem peeps to sin, and pressured Judah to join in.
Elijah the prophet slid into his DMs with a message from the Lord God of David: “You ain't walked in Jehoshaphat's or Asa's ways.”
But you followed the kings of Israel, leading Judah and Jerusalem to go wild, just like Ahab's crew, and you even took out your better bros.
Yo, the Lord's about to hit your people, kids, wives, and all your stuff with a major plague.
You'll be sick with some crazy gut issues, until it’s just too much to handle.
The Lord stirred up the Philistines and Arabians against Jehoram, right by the Ethiopians.
They rolled into Judah, raided the king's crib, and took everything, including his sons and wives, leaving him with just Jehoahaz, his youngest.
After all this, the Lord hit him with an incurable gut disease.
So, after two years, his guts fell out 'cause of his sickness, and he died from some nasty diseases. His people didn’t even burn anything for him, like they did for his fathers.
He was 32 when he started reigning, held it down in Jerusalem for eight years, and dipped without anyone caring. They buried him in David's city, but not in the kings' tombs.
